Description of Services

RISE runs an incubator farm program for New American immigrants and refugees interested in exploring farming in the United States. RISE trains farmers on growing methods, provides market access for produce, and facilitates connections with landowners for farmers who want to pursue greater independence.

Description of Pro Bono or Discounted Rates

Farmers access our program in the first year free of charge, and pay nominal leasing fees in subsequent seasons. All farmers have access to free transportation to the farm.

Language Accessibility

Staff involved in the Agriculture Program can interpret in French, Nepali, Somali, Pashtu, Swahili, and Malagasy. Additional translation services may be accessed on request.

RISE's farm property is in the town of Sandy Creek in northern Oswego County, but all clients live in and around Syracuse. RISE is interested in finding landowners in the Syracuse area who are curious about opportunities to support New American farming endeavors through micro-scale lease agreements.
